Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Bruce Luberski, the BP Vice President on ACG Construction Work, stated to a briefing on 29 June that topsides of drilling platform with living headquarters on it and technical supply will be installed in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea in August to carry out drilling in the Deepwater Gunashli field.
In September topsides of compression platform, technological supply and water injection will sail to the Deepwater Gunashli field in September.
Addressing the briefing BP Manager on Offshore Projects of Phase 3, Karl Kerni, stated that in September drilling of pre-drilling wells will be launched in the Deepwater Guneshli field in September.
"If earlier under the pre-drilling program on Azeri field, the pre-drilling well was drilled up to the oil reservoir and reserved, whereas additional 1,000m should be drilled till the reservoir in the Deepwater Guneshli field," Kerni stressed.
Oil production from the Guneshli field will begin in May 2008. Until that period 4 wells will be ready on the field.
By the end of 2007 the entire construction work under Azeri field and Deepwater Guneshli will be complete, Luberski said
Within the framework of the BP-operated Azeri-Chirag -Gunashli project Azeri, Chirag, and Deepwater Gunashli fields are developed.
