Increase in Demand for Energy Resources is a Concern: US Energy Ministry Official
Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynli / Stanley Bull, the acting Director of the National Laboratory for Recoverable Energy Sources of the US Energy Ministry, stated that the US Energy Ministry is concerned about the forecasts of an increase in energy consumption in the world of 55-60% by 2030. He was addressing a two-day US-Azerbaijani workshop on anti-seismic and energy efficient construction materials held in Baku on 16 July.
The rational use of energy should be a priority for all world countries. Bull said that for efficient use of energy it is necessary to pay attention to mutual relations in three major factors - technology, policy and market.
In her remarks Anna Derse, the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, noted that energy security does not only apply to oil pipelines. During construction it is necessary pay attention to the use of anti-seismic construction materials.
"The real estate market is developing at a rapid speed in Azerbaijan. The US is prepared to assist Azerbaijan in the application of new technology for the stability of new building and provision of energy security," the Ambassador noted.
Seventy Azerbaijani and US specialists participated in the two-day workshop.
