Terms Announced to Complete Construction of Substation to Increase Energy Exchange Between Azerbaijan and Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Aliyev / All problems were settled in connection with the supply of equipment for the construction of 'Salyan' substation. The construction will allow an increase in energy exchange with Iran by 700 microwatt out of the existing 200 microwatt.

Marlen Askarov, the vice-president of 'Azerenerji' company, stated on 17 July that construction of the substation will be carried out by Iranian company Sunir. Iran allocated some $75mln for the construction of transmission equipment and substation, 85% of which was allocated by the Iranian Bank of export cooperation and 15% by Azerbaijan.

Alibayramli State Energy Production Station, situated in Imishli and the second line of Imishli in Parsabad, is planning to construct 330 kilovolt Transmission Equipment for energy exchange by 700 microwatt, 220 kilovolt Transmission Equipment, Alibayramli State Energy Production Station in Salyan, Salyan-Masalli, Masalli-Astara, as well as to upgrade the 'Salyan' substation and the expansion of four other substations.

The total length of transmission equipment is 350km. The implementation of the project will allow the delivery to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of 150 microwatt and 400 microwatt to the Azerbaijani energy system during the winter months.
