Russia, Azerbaijan to Negotiate on Transit of Electric Energy to Georgia
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Azerenerji JSC and Russian Inter JSC Unified Energy System will soon hold negotiations on opportunities of transportation of Russian electric energy to Georgia via Azerbaijan, AzerTaj state news agency quotes a representative of the Russian company, Boris Zverev.
According to Zverev, the project is very attractive from commercial standpoint and can be of great efficiency as an economic model. The issue is now discussed by experts of different level.
The Russian company runs Georgian high voltage and distribution networks. The company has intentions to transport energy via Azerbaijan for sale.
Russia presently supplies electric energy to Azerbaijan for immediate utilization. A mutual energy exchange is available between the countries.
