Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend V.Sharifov / The Geology and Geophysics Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to conclude the two- and three-dimension (2D and 3D) seismic survey on the contract area of the field of South-West Gobustan by request of the Gobustan Operating Company by late September.
Arawak Energy Corporation holds a stake in the development of the Azerbaijani offshore field Southwest Gobustan. Gobustan Operating Company (GOC) has developed Southwest Gobustan under the PSA agreed with SOCAR. The company began selling free gas in February 2006. In GOC 80% stock belongs to Commonwealth Gobustan Limited and 20% to SOCAR. In Commonwealth Gobustan Limited 37.17% belongs to Arawak Energy and 62.83% to China National Petroleum Company.
Three-dimensional seismology exploration work carried out on the area of 200 sq. meters of the Dashgil, Duvanny, and Kanizadagh fields (which enters the field of South-West Gobustan), has been finalizef. Currently two-dimension seismic survey carried out on the area of 480 sq. meters of the Central and North block is nearing to end.
The Russian Trust of Tyumenneftgeofizika is subcontractor of the Gobustan Operating Company.
