Caspian Pipeline Company Must Expand to Increase Efficiency: KazMunayGas’ Executive Director

Kazakhstan, Astana / Trend corr. V.Sharifov / The volume of oil production will reach 180mln t per year in Kazakhstan by 2020, Arman Darbayev, the executive director of the KazMunayGas company, said during the second Eurasian Energy Forum held by KazEnergy in Astana.

Kazakhstan pays more attention to construction, expansion and the upgrade of transport infrastructure for increasing its energy supplies.

"The Caspian Pipeline Company may be expanded by 67mln t of oil per year, with some 50mln t belonging to Kazakhstan," Darbayev said.

It is necessary to expand the Atira-Samara pipeline by 20 or 25mln t per year. The Atasu-Alashonku oil pipeline may be doubled.
