Kazakh bank deposits in tenge rise by 1.2%

Bank deposits of Kazakhstan's residents at the end of October amounted to 17.64 trillion tenge, remaining at the level of the previous month, Kazakh media reported with reference to the National Bank.

In particular, deposits of legal entities increased by 0.4 percent to 9.32 trillion tenge and those of individuals decreased by 0.5 percent to 8.32 trillion tenge.

Deposits in national currency for the month rose by 1.2 percent to 9.37 trillion tenge, while deposits in foreign currency fell by 1.5 percent to 8.27 trillion tenge.

Deposits of legal entities in national currency went up by 1.6 percent to 5.13 trillion tenge, and those in foreign currency went down by 1.1 percent to 4.19 trillion tenge. Deposits of individuals in tenge grew by 0.9 percent to 4.24 trillion tenge, while those in foreign currency declined by 1.9 percent to 4.08 trillion tenge.

Also, term deposits amounted to 12 trillion tenge, decreasing by 1.9 percent for the month.

Term deposits in national currency amounted to 6.17 trillion tenge, and in foreign currency to 5.83 trillion tenge.
