Value of deposits of non-financial organizations in Azerbaijan reaches historical high

The volume of deposits of non-financial organizations in Azerbaijan amounted to 12.37 billion manats at the end of November 2018, which is 11.4 percent more than in the beginning of the year and 19.5 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of the country (CBA).

This is the highest figure since 2005 [there is no earlier statistics on the CBA website].

The total volume of deposits of legal entities in banks of Azerbaijan amounted to 13.9 billion manats, increasing by 33.16 percent over the year, and by 6.74 percent from the beginning of the year.

As of November 2018, the volume of deposits of financial organizations of Azerbaijan amounted to almost 1.55 billion manats, 73.7 percent of which was placed in foreign currency. The volume of deposits of individuals amounted to 8.07 billion manats (62.56 percent - in foreign currency).

In general, during the reporting period, the volume of deposits of legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijani banks amounted to 21.99 billion manats, which is 6.75 percent more than in the beginning of the year and almost 12 percent more compared to the end of November 2017.

Deposits in national currency as of early December 2018 amounted to 7.39 billion manats (33.6 percent of all deposits), and deposits in foreign currency amounted to 14.6 billion manats (66.4 percent).
