Uzbeks increase withdrawal of money from cards

Uzbeks have increased withdrawal of money from their credit cards last year, according to the latest data.
Some 2372 trillion soums were withdrawn from the cards in December of last year, of which 1083 trillion were withdrawn from ATMs, Trend reports with a reference to Sputnik News.
In 2018, the amount of funds withdrawn from bank cards increased fourfold compared to 2017 and amounted to 12.29 trillion soums, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Uzbek citizens withdrew 4913 trillion soums from ATMs In 2018, compared to 98 trillion soums in 2017.
For comparison, only 425 trillion soums were withdrawn from bank cards in Uzbekistan, 48 of which - through ATMs in January last year.
The ATMs that convert foreign currency into soums without commission appeared in Uzbekistan in October 2018. The rate is set by the bank serving the specific model, and the conversion fee is not charged.
Besides, the government adopted a resolution on the installation of an automated currency exchange offices operating around the clock.
In December 2018, the UzCard holders became able to deposit money on cards through ATMs. The changes affected the models of Agrobank, Xalq banki, Ravnaq-bank, KDB and Hi-Tech bank.
