Tehran, Iran, Jan. 28

Trend:

Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnaser Hemmati has announced the foreign currency performance of CBI as negative, saying there is no way that it can reach the predicted revenues for the next Iranian year budget plan.

Speaking at a parliament session, Hemmati said: "The Central Bank of Iran's foreign currency performance was -$47 million," Trend reports citing ILNA.

He noted: "In the next year's budget bill, the parliament has predicted $428 million revenues from foreign currency transactions for the Central Bank of Iran. If the bill passes, the CBI should pay taxes for the profit that it has not achieved, therefore it will lead to a 6 to 7 percent liquidity rise."
