Trend:

Iranian parliament speaker has recently announced the Supreme Leader’s order to reform the budget plan in four months and the Member of Parliament Amir Hossein Ghazi Zade Hashemi said that the Supreme Leader has sent a letter to government and the Supreme Economic Coordination Council, advising for the reform.

The member of the parliament’s budget commission Ahmad Hemmati has discussed the issue in an interview with Trend.

The Supreme Leader’s objection is not only related to the next Iranian year budget plan, but in general, to the budget structure, noted Hemmati.

"In general, the process of drafting budget and discussing it at the commission and parliament assembly is carried out in accordance with one specific structure that certainly has shortcomings and the Supreme Leader has ordered to reform it due to these errors. There is no
doubt that if the budget reform succeeds,

we would have a logical and clear budget plan that the country needs,” he added.

Semnan representative noted that the next year budget has been submitted by the government to the parliament after a delay and therefore, the reviewing session started late. So, the MPs do not have enough time to discuss and review the plan specially, when the Guardian Council should also approve the budget plan before the start of new year(March21,2019).

"Now the budget plan heads to parliament assembly for further review.", he added.
