Amount of investments in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital down

In January-March 2019, the investments worth 2.7 billion manats were made from all financial sources in the development of economy and social sphere in Azerbaijan, which is 9.3 percent less than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

According to the report, a decrease in the volume is associated with the decrease in the amount of investments made in the oil sector. Thus, 70.7 percent of investments made in fixed assets were spent for building and installation work. The amount of investments made in the non-oil sector increased by six percent.

Meanwhile, 64.3 percent of the total amount of investments accounted for the construction of commodity producers, 26.4 percent - facilities in the service sectors, 9.3 percent - housing construction with a total area of ​​420,000 square meters.

Thus, 67.3 percent accounted for the investments made from domestic sources. Among all sources of investments, 65.6 percent of the funds were made from enterprises and organizations, 21.8 percent - budgetary funds, 6.5 percent - personal funds of the population, five percent - bank loans, 0.8 percent - extra-budgetary funds, 0.3 percent - the rest funds.

The Real Estate Services Center of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Property Issues in Baku, SOCAR Carbamide plant in Sumgait city, the polyethylene plant, the Olympic Sports Complex in the Beylagan district, the historical and ethnographic museum, the Mingachevir - Mingachevir Station - Bahramtepe - Beylagan and Kebirli - Eyvazalilar - Birinji Ashigli – Alinazarli highway, two 1,170-seat secondary schools in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a 200-seat preschool educational institution, two outpatient polyclinics capable of serving up to 35 people, a 260-bed hospital in Shamkir district and other important facilities were commissioned in January-March 2019.
