Azerbaijan’s Kapital Bank increases total capital by 67%

Azerbaijan’s Kapital Bank increased total capital by 67.4 percent to 421.5 million manats in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the first quarter of last year, Trend reports referring to the bank’s financial report.

As of March 31, 2019, the bank's assets amounted to 3.58 billion manats, which is 13.2 percent higher than the same period last year.

In the asset structure, the bank's cash funds amounted to 383.9 million manats, which is 7.1 percent more than last year. The volume of short-term financial instruments in the interbank market amounted to 45.9 million manats, which is 68.8 percent more than last year. The total balances of correspondent accounts decreased by 61.1 percent to 260.6 million manats. The volume of deposits in banks and other financial institutions amounted to 582.3 million manats, which is 4.86 percent lower than last year. Investment in securities increased by more than 2.5 times to 820.2 million manats. The bank’s aggregate loan portfolio increased by 26.9 percent, reaching 1.32 billion manats, of which the volume of loans issued to other financial institutions decreased by 86 percent (compared to last year) to 609,000 manats. The volume of fixed assets also increased by 10 percent, reaching 41.7 million manats. Real estate increased by 5.3 percent, amounting to 5.4 million manats. Intangible assets increased by 14.2 percent, reaching 20.1 million manats. Other assets of the bank amounted to 96.7 million manats, which is 9.1 percent more than last year.

The liabilities of the bank increased by 8.49 percent, amounting to 3.16 billion manats. In the structure of liabilities, the deposit portfolio increased by 10.67 percent to 2.7 billion manats. The balances of loro accounts for the reporting period decreased by 5.23 percent (compared to last year) to 13.6 million manats. The deposits of other banks and financial institutions amounted to 131.8 million manats, which is 41.4 percent less than last year. Loans from other financial institutions amounted to 75.7 million manats, which is 4.3 percent higher than in the first quarter of last year. The remaining liabilities of the bank amounted to 240.8 million manats, which is 47.4 percent more than last year.

Net profit for the reporting period amounted to 47.6 million manats, which is almost 14 percent more than in the first quarter of last year.
