The women willing to start a business will be provided with primary funds as part of the project aimed at the development of women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijani districts, Sakina Babayeva, Head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.

“Thirty women entrepreneurs living in Azerbaijan's Tovuz district will receive funds within the project,” she said.

"Most of these women are engaged in agriculture and start their business in various agriculture segments,” Babayeva added. “In our turn, we will support each of them through training and consultations. The project is designed for three years and we intend to help women developing business in the districts during this period.”

She stressed that the project is sponsored by International Labor Organization.

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established in October 2017 with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan. Over 143,000 women are engaged in business in Azerbaijan, according to the statistics.
