National Bank of Kazakhstan reveals circulation statistics

The total value of monetary assets available in Kazakhstan reached 2.193 trillion tenge in March 2019, or 2.7 percent higher than in February 2019 and 3 percent less as compared to December 2018, Trend reports citing the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

Reportedly, M1 monetary aggregate, which includes notes and coins in circulation, as well as tenge liquid deposits, reached 5.402 trillion tenge, or 1.9 percent less as compared to February 2019 ( a 3.6 percent decrease since early 2019).

“M2 monetary aggregate which includes notes and coins as well as tenge and currency liquid deposits reached 14.641 trillion tenge, or 1.2 percent less compared to February 2019 (+1.2 percent since the beginning of the year),” reads the message.

Reportedly, money supply decreased by 1.6 percent compared to February 2019 (-6.8 percent since the beginning of the year) reaching 19.401 trillion tenge. "Monetary base of National Bank of Kazakhstan decreased by 4.2 percent compared to February 2019 (-6.1 percent compared to December 2018) reaching 6.248 trillion tenge."

Deposit value of second tier banks, as well as of other organizations deposited in the National Bank decreased by 7.7 percent compared to February 2019 (-7,1 percent since the beginning of the year) reaching 3.747 trillion tenge.
