Georgia's volume of bonds increases

In 2018, the bond market of Georgia displayed an upturn, Trend reports citing the annual report of the National Bank of Georgia.

“Overall, 10 companies emitted 15 bonds worth 714 billion lari. Thus, 12 bonds accounted for public offering and the remaining three bonds accounted for private placement,” the report said.

“In 2018, total volume of bonds of public offering amounted to 663 million lari (increase 6.6 times compared to 2017). Some 458 million lari accounted for the bonds of public offering emitted by international financial institutions,” the annual report states.

“Furthermore, the volume of lari-denominated securities increased in 2018 and amounted to 75 percent of all bonds,” reads the report.
