Volume of OTC transactions registered by Azerbaijan’s NDC in dollars up by almost 4 times

The National Depository Center (NDC) of Azerbaijan registered 372 over-the-counter (OTC) transactions worth almost 816.72 million manats in January-July 2019, Trend reports referring to statistical data provided by NDC.

Relative to the same period of last year, the total number of the OTC transactions increased by 24.8 percent. However, their share in the local currency decreased by 0.9 percent and amounted to 356 transactions (95.7 percent of the total). Some 16 deals were concluded in US dollars (4.3 percent), i.e. six deals more than during the same period of last year.

Compared to January-July 2018, the total volume of registered OTC transactions (in local currency and in US dollars - 404.999 and 411.72 million manats, respectively) showed an increase of almost 9.3 percent. The share of the volume of transactions concluded in local currency decreased by 35.8 percent and amounted to 49.6 percent of the total due to an increase in the volume of registered transactions in dollars by almost 4 times.

Most of the transactions (56 percent) were concluded in January (456.22 million manats). Most OTC transactions (specifically 120 transactions) were concluded in May.
