By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) noted the correct economic policy of Georgia, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

This was said at a workshop, which was held at the ministry and was attended by representatives of OECD, international organizations, Georgian government bodies, business associations and financial institutions.

At the meeting, the OECD experts presented the initial results of the Georgia Investment Policy Assessment. The investment environment created by ongoing dynamic economic reforms in the country was positively assessed by the organization’s representatives.

According to the OECD, Georgia’s high investment attractiveness at the international level makes it the leader in the region.

“A positive assessment by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development once again clearly underlines the correct economic policy chosen by the Georgian government,” Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Nikoloz Alavidze said at the meeting.

He stressed that the evaluation by such a reputable organization as OECD is an important tool to determine how attractive a country is for foreign direct investments.
