Azerbaijan's GDP exceeds 50B manats in 8 months

In January-August 2019, Azerbaijan’s GDP exceeded the corresponding figures for the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan’s GDP reached 50.875 billion manats in January-August 2019, that is 2.4 percent more than in January-August 2018.

In eight months of this year, the share of industry in the GDP structure was as follows: information and communication - 1.8 percent; agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 5.9 percent; tourism and catering - 2.5 percent; industry - 43.6 percent; trade and repair of vehicles - 10.3 percent; transport and warehousing - 6.4 percent; other areas - 14.6 percent. Net taxes on products and imports accounted for 8.9 percent of GDP.

During the reporting period, economic growth was observed in the spheres such as information and communications - 17.6 percent; agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 6.2 percent; tourism and catering - 2.5 percent; industry - 2.9 percent; trade and repair of vehicles - 10.3 percent; transport and storage - 2.8 percent; in other spheres - 1.8 percent. At the same time, a decrease of 8.8 percent was observed in the construction sector.

In January-August 2019, the economic growth reached 1.6 percent in the oil sector, and 3 percent in the non-oil sector .

GDP per capita for the reporting period reached 5,145.1 manats.
