Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan OJSC will open five branches in Azerbaijan till late 2019, Chairman of the Board of Ziraat Bank in Azerbaijan Avni Demirci said.
Demirci made the remarks in Baku at the second session of the 9th International Caspian Energy Forum, Trend reports on Sept. 20.
“Another branch of the bank will open in Azerbaijan’s Sumgait city soon,” he added. "Presently, our branches operate in Baku and Ganja. Until the end of 2019, we plan to open five branches in Azerbaijan."
Ziraat Bank Azerbaijan OJSC has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2015. The bank's shareholders are Ziraat Bank (99.98 percent), Ziraat Insurance (0.01 percent) and Ziraat Securities (0.01 percent).
Ziraat Bank has been operating in the Azerbaijani banking market since 1995 as one of the cofounders of Azer Turk Bank, where currently the Turkish bank owns 12.37 percent. Its subsidiary, Ziraat Bank International AG, owns 1.08 percent in this joint bank.
