Georgian tea to be exported to US

Georgian "Manna" tea variety will be exported to the US, said Avtandil Chkheidze, co-founder of a Georgian tea company, Trend reports with reference to bm.ge.

According to him, it is initially planned to export 500 kg or one ton of the "Manna" tea to New York. At the moment, the tea variety is being tested in several restaurants and shops of the city.

Initially, one package (20 bags) of the "Manna" tea will cost between $2- $3 in the New York market. The company plans to export tea to other US cities in the future, and, according to Chkheidze, tea will be exported to New Jersey and Connecticut.

“We want to expand our business outside of New York, we also plan to export our tea to California and Chicago and intend to expand the export market in the future,” Chkheidze said.
