Experts from Croatia and Greece will visit Georgia on 21-22 October, Trend reports referring to the European Union.
According to the EU, the experts will discuss with the country’s Finance Ministry the 2003 EU Energy Directive on taxation of energy products and electricity, and approximation of Georgian legislation to it.
The expert mission is aimed to support the Ministry in making gap analysis of the tax legislation and assist in elaborating necessary amendments.
Under the Association Agreement with the EU, Georgia is set to implement the 2003 EU Directive on restructuring the framework for the taxation of energy products and electricity. The mission will help the country with this transition.
A workshop within the visit is organized by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Georgia’s Ministry of Finance.
