Import Price Index increases in Georgia

The Import Price Index (MPI) in Georgia i increased by 1.1 percent in September 2019 compared to August 2019, while compared to September 2018 the Index increased by 11.7 percent, Trend reports referring the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In September 2019, the prices were 10.7 percent higher for manufactured products compared to September 2018, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 18.9 percent was registered.

With regard to electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water, the prices were 49 percent higher.

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by 1.4 percent in September 2019 compared to the previous month. There was a 1.2 percent increase in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to September 2018, the XPI increased by 13.5 percent. In the mentioned period prices increased for manufactured products by 10.1 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 39.3 percent.
