Kazakh reserve money narrows by over 10%

As at the end of September 2019, the value of reserve money of Kazakhstan was 6.528 trillion tenge ($28.4 billion) , which is 1.1 percent less that in August and 1.8 percent less than at the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to the data of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

“The narrow reserve money equaled 5.244 trillion tenge ($22.8 billion) with a decrease of 10.9 percent since August and of 12.5 percent since the beginning of the year,” the report said.

“In turn, the value of currency in circulation stood at 2.232 trillion tenge ($9.7 billion), which is a decrease by 0.7 percent since August and a decrease by 1.2 percent since the beginning of the year,” the statement said.

M1 money aggregate decreased by 0.1 percent since August and amounted to 5.568 trillion tenge ($24.2 billion), while M2 money aggregate increased by 3.9 percent in a month and equaled 15.2 trillion tenge ($66.3 billion).

“The broad money value amounted to 20.341 trillion tenge ($88.7 billion), which is 2.8 percent more than in August and 2.3 percent less than in the beginning of the year,” the report said.
