The average expenses of Azerbaijani tourists per person in Georgia amounted to 524.5 lari ($178.4) in the third quarter of 2019, Trend reports referring to the quarterly report of the Georgian National Tourism Administration.
In a quarterly comparison, the average expenses of Azerbaijani tourists per person in the neighboring country increased by 108.5 lari ($36.7) or by 26 percent.
For nine months of this year, Azerbaijani citizens spent less compared to the tourists from other countries.
The first place in terms of spending in Georgia was occupied by Russians - 1,323 lari ($450.5) per person, followed by Turkish citizens – 816 lari ($277.8) per person.
The tourists who visited Georgia in the third quarter of this year spent 3.3 billion lari ($1.1 billion) in total.
In the reporting period, 547,114 tourists from Azerbaijan visited Georgia, which is 10.6 percent more compared to the same period last year. Some 92.2 percent of Azerbaijani tourists visited Georgia again, and 7.8 percent of them visited Georgia for the first time.
The average time spent by Azerbaijani tourists in Georgia was 2-3 days.
