Tashkent - biggest contributor to formation of Uzbekistan's GDP

Tashkent city's share for contribution to the formation of Uzbekistan's GDP in 2019 amounted to 14.6 percent - the biggest among the country's cities, Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Tashkent and Samarkand regions hold the second and the third places with indicators of 9.8 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.

Outstripping GDP growth rates in 2019 were recorded in Tashkent city (110.5 percent), Khorezm (107.7 percent), Namangan (107 percent), Andijan (106.5 percent) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (106.8 percent).

According to the results of 2019, the largest share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the sectorial structure of GRP falls on Jizzakh region (56.8 percent), industry - Navoi region (66.8 percent), construction and services - Tashkent (10.2 percent and 53.3 percent).

At the end of 2019, the share of small business in the republic's GDP amounted to 56.5 percent. By regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Jizzakh (84.1 percent of the total gross value added in the region), Namangan (79.2 percent) and Surkhandarya (78.2 percent) regions.

As of January 1, 2020, the number of small enterprises and micro-firms operating in the county (excluding farms) is over 334,000 units. The largest number of small enterprises and micro-firms registered in Tashkent city (over 74,000 units).

The GDP of Uzbekistan in 2019 amounted to $58.3 billion, which is 5.5 percent more compared to 2018.
