Azerbaijan - Iran trade turnover drops

The volume of trade of Azerbaijan with Iran amounted to $25.4 million in January of 2020, Trend reports referring to the reporting data of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the report, this amount is 3.4 times less compared to January 2019.

In January 2020, the volume of exports from Azerbaijan to Iran amounted to $1.3 million in the structure of trade turnover, which is 6.2 times or $7 million less compared to the same month of 2019. In turn, the volume of imports amounted to $24 million, which is 3.2 times less year on year.

Accordingly, the negative balance also decreased by more than 3 times, amounting to 22.7 million manat ($13.3 million).

In January 2020, the trade turnover between these countries dropped by 38.4 percent. Exports from Azerbaijan to Iran dropped by almost 6 times, and imports by almost 28 percent. The negative balance dropped by 11 percent.
