Iran announces amount of loans provided to handicraft industry in Lorestan province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22

Loans worth some 54.9 billion rials (about $1.3 million) were provided to people working in the handicraft industry at the Lorestan province in western Iran last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Amin Ghasemi Head of Department of Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicraft in Lorestan province, Trend reports citing the official website of the department.

According to Ghasemi, 29.7 billion rials (about $707,000) of that amount was issued to 103 workshops, more than 25 billion rials (about $595,000) - to 25 people in the handicraft industry.

Ghasemi added that 1,500 people were employed, thanks to the loans.

Some 82 projects in the tourism sector were licensed in Iran's Lorestan province. As many as 2.98 trillion rials (about $71 million) will be invested in these projects.

According to these projects, 5 hotels, 1 apartment, 25 residences, 17 tourist complexes, 2 hotels and others will be built.
