Amount of loans issued by Bank Maskan of Iran increases

The amount of loans issued by Bank Maskan of Iran increased by 65.6 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), Trend reports citing the bank’s official website.

According to the report, last year, the Bank Maskan issued 40,800 loans worth 49 trillion rials (about $1.16 billion).

“Meanwhile, loans worth 29.6 trillion rials [about $705 million] were issued the year before,” the bank said.

Last year, most loans were issued for the construction of individual housing. A total of 20.7 trillion rials (about $494 million) loans were issued for this purpose.

“The second largest share of loans amounting to 18 trillion rials [about $429 million] were issued on the basis of applications for the construction of multi-storey buildings," the bank noted.

Furthermore, last Iranian year, the Bank Maskan issued loans of 8.76 trillion rials (about $208 million) for the construction of apartments under the Mehr housing project.

The Bank Maskan of Iran operates mainly in the housing sector.
