The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijani capital and regions amounted to 7.7 billion manat ($4.5 billion) in late April 2020, which is 957 million manat ($562.9 million) or 11 percent less than in late April 2019, Trend reports referring to the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
As many as 9.8 percent of all bank deposits in Azerbaijan accounted for the regions in late April this year.
Around 44.9 percent (3.4 billion manat or $2 billion) of all bank deposits in the country accounted for deposits in the national currency.
In Baku, total volume of deposits amounted to 6.9 billion manat ($4 billion), of which 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion) were in the national currency.
As of May 1, the average annual interest rate on deposits in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.5 percent and to 3.4 percent in Baku.
