Baku Stock Exchange reveals transactions on corporate securities in 1H2020

The total volume of transactions on corporate securities at the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to 1.26 billion manat ($741.1 million) from January through July 2020, Trend reports citing the report of the BSE.

In 2019, the volume of transactions in corporate securities amounted to 406 million manat ($238.8 million). Thus, the total volume of transactions performed in the first half of 2020 rose 3.1 times over the year.

Among the transactions carried out over the reporting period, 17 transactions worth over 128.9 million manat ($75.8 million) were made in the primary market, which is twice more compared to the same period of 2019. Of these, seven transactions were made on mortgage bonds in the total amount of 3.5 million manat ($2 million), showing an increase of 12.5 times.

The secondary market accounted for 1,207 transactions totaling 1.1 billion manat ($647 million). Furthermore, 948 shares were sold in the secondary market for 8.7 million manat ($5.1 million), having shown a growth of almost 7.5 times.

Repo transactions in corporate securities amounted to 36.5 million manat ($21.4 million), increasing 5.2 times. In total, 504 corporate repo transactions were carried out at the BSE. This is almost twice the number of transactions carried out in the first half of the previous year.
