Foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan drops

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $15 billion from January through July 2020, which is 27.4 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $9.1 billion, which decreased by 25.6 percent over the year. The share of exports decreased by 1.85 percent for the month, and for the year increased by 1.5 percent, to 62.6 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.

Imports to Azerbaijan in the first seven months of this year amounted to $5.9 million, decreasing by 29.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The share of imports in the total trade turnover decreased by 1.5 percent, to 39.25 percent of the total volume.

The balance of foreign trade turnover dropped by $604 million year-on-year, but remained positive, amounting to $3.2 billion.
