Turkmenistan’s GDP increases

Turkmenistan's GDP increased by 5.7 percent from January through July, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This became known during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via videoconference.

The volume of retail trade turnover increased by 19.3 percent in the reporting period compared to the corresponding period of 2019, and the average monthly wage increased by 10.5 percent at large and medium-sized enterprises

As reported, Turkmenistan's GDP increased by 5.9 percent for 1H2020 compared to the same period last year, while the average monthly wage increased by 10.5 percent in 1H2020 compared to 1H2019.

Privatization of state property, the transformation of enterprises and institutions with a state share of capital into joint-stock companies, and the organization of the securities market are the main areas on which the government of Turkmenistan focuses, said the report.
