Volume of wheat purchased in Iran's Isfahan Province grows

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6

The volume of wheat purchased from farmers in the Iran’s Isfahan Province has increased by 40 percent from June 26 to September 6, 2020, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Government Trading Corporation (GTC) of Iran’s branch in Isfahan Province Mohsen Ziyaei said, Trend reports citing the corporation’s official website.

According to Ziyaei, 122,000 tons of wheat has been purchased from farmers so far.

The director general added that the value of wheat purchased from farmers in the Isfahan Province was 3.5 trillion rials (about $83.3 million). So far, 2.6 trillion rials (about $61.9 million) has been paid to farmers.

The price of ordinary wheat to be purchased from farmers in the current planting year is set at 25,000 rials (about 59 cents), and of durum wheat - at 26,000 rials (about 61 cents) per kilogram in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020). The price of rapeseed is set at 46,600 rials (about $1.1) per kilogram.

Several products, including wheat, tea, rice, and other products are purchased from farmers by a state company under a guarantee in Iran.
