Georgian Silknet finishes 1H2020 with losses

The income of Georgian Silknet telecommunication company for 1H2020 reached 184.9 million lari ($60.2 million) and the losses - 39.6 million lari ($12.9 million), Trend reports via the company's message.
The company incomes have slightly increased by 870,000 lari ($283,550) year-on-year.
At the same time, losses have shrunk essentially - down by 41 percent year-on year.
Incomes from outgoing calls marked 49.6 million lari ($16.1 million), landline internet – 49.4 million lari ($16.1 million), cellular services – 30.68 million lari ($9.9 million), Pay TV – 22.3 million lari ($7.2 million), interconnection services – 10.3 million lari ($3.3. million), roaming – 1.3 million lari ($423,696).
According to the Silknet report, the telecommunications sector turned out one of the steady sectors amid the pandemic.
"The accelerated digitalization models will remain and they will expand the potential in long-term period”, the report reads.
The company carries out monitoring of the growing internet traffic and if necessary, the company will renew the equipment and expand the traffic capacity of the international channel.
