The net international investment position (IIP) of Georgia amounted to -$23.5 billion (-71.9 billion lari) for June 30 2020, accounting for -140.0 percent of the last four quarter GDP, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia.
Net IIP deteriorated by $953.7 million compared to the previous quarter.
International assets amounted to $10.7 billion (32.7 billion lari) by June 30 2020, up by $250 million quarterly.
Liabilities increased by $1.2 billion during the quarter totaling $34.2 billion (104.6 billion lari).
The current account deficit of Georgia totaled $337.1 million in the second quarter of 2020.
Net foreign direct investments amounted to $148.9 million accounting for 4.2 percent of GDP.
