Along with subsidies provided by the state to manufacturers in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, in order to further support entrepreneurship, loans worth 8.17 million manat ($4.8 million) were issued to economic entities in the first seven months of 2020, which is 8.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Nakhchivan.

From January through August 2020, agricultural products worth 323.7 million manat ($190.4 million) were produced in Nakhchivan, which is 3.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year, added the committee.

Sustainable development of the agrarian sector in Nakhchivan creates ample opportunities for expanding local production, ensuring food security and effective employment, the committee said.

By the order of Azerbaijan’s President dated April 23, 2020 ‘On additional measures to improve the provision of irrigation water in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and meet the needs of the population for drinking water’, funds worth 1 million manat ($588,235) were allocated to Nakhchivan’s Cabinet of Ministers.
