Iran declares amount of loans issued to housing & construction sector

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 394 trillion rials (about $9.37 billion) to the housing and construction sector during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Central Bank of Iran.

According to the report, 58.6 trillion rials (about $1.39 billion) worth of loans were issued for establishment of enterprises in housing and construction sector over 6 months.

"During the reporting period, 97.1 trillion rials (about $2.31 billion) worth of loans were issued to the housing and construction sector as working capital," the report added.

In addition, the loans worth 101 trillion rials (about $2.41 billion) were issued for repair work in the housing and construction sector within six months, the report said.

According to the report, about 14.2 trillion rials (about $337 million) worth of loans were issued for the development of the housing and construction sector in the same months.

"The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth 339 billion rials (about $8 million) to purchase personal supplies and equipment in the housing and construction sector over the past six months," the report noted.

Furthermore, the loans worth 118 trillion rials (about $2.81 billion) were issued to purchase of housing for construction work in the housing and construction sector within this period.

According to the report, a total of 3.7 trillion rials (about $88.3 million) worth of loans were issued for other purposes in the housing and construction sector.

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 6.97 quadrillion rials (about $166 billion) to various sectors during the first six months of the current Iranian year. The volume of issued loans increased by 82.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
