Iran unveils amount of loans issued to services sector

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 2.44 quadrillion rials (about $58.2 billion) to the services sector during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Central Bank of Iran.

According to the report, 300 trillion rials (about $7.15 billion) worth of loans were issued for establishment of enterprises in services sector over 6 months.

“During the reporting period, 1.54 quadrillion rials (about $36.8 billion) worth of loans were issued to the services sector as working capital,” the report added.

In addition, the loans worth 39.9 trillion rials (about $950 million) were issued for repair work in the services sector within six months, the report said.

According to the report, about 282 trillion rials (about $6.71 billion) worth of loans were issued for the development of enterprises in the services sector in the same months.

“The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth 12.3 trillion rials (about $293 million) to purchase personal belongings and supplies in the services sector over the past six months,” the report noted.

Furthermore, the loans worth 13.3 trillion rials (about $318 million) were issued for purchase of housing in the services sector within this period.

According to the report, a total of 252 trillion rials (about $6 billion) worth of loans were issued for other purposes in the services sector.

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 6.97 quadrillion rials (about $166 billion) to various sectors during the first six months of the current Iranian year. The volume of issued loans increased by 82.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
