South Korea ready to actively participate in Turkmenistan's projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 24

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

South Korea expressed its readiness to continue the partnership with Turkmenistan and participate in projects of national and regional significance implemented by Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was stated during the eighth meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

The parties discussed the implementation of the reached agreements, as well as further steps to deepen cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

The cooperation is promising in the field of transport on the formation of multimodal transit and transport corridors in the directions "North-South" and "East-West", as well as the modernization of infrastructure in this area.

The sides also expressed mutual interest in continuing cooperation in a number of other areas, including in the construction sector, the textile industry, communications, culture, science, education, sports, health, water resources management, etc.

A proposal was made to establish links between the commodity exchanges of the two countries, to hold exhibitions, conferences, business meetings, and forums regularly.

Examples of mutually beneficial cooperation in creating high-tech industries based on processing local raw materials in various industries are major projects involving Korean companies – the construction of a natural gas desulphurization plant at the Galkynysh field, the modernization of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in Turkmenistan, the construction of a gas chemical plant for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the village of Kiyanli in the Balkan region.
