Georgia's debt to Azerbaijan decreases

Georgia's state debt to Azerbaijan has decreased by 12.7 percent, or by $800,000 - to $5.49 million for 2020, Trend reports citing a report from the Georgian Ministry of Finance.

As of February 1, 2020, Georgia's debt to Azerbaijan amounted to $6.29 million.

According to the report, the total external debt of Georgia is currently $7.78 million.

Of these, $7.41 million falls to the government, $373,169 - to the National Bank of the country.

Most of all Georgia owes the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development - $841,223.

Georgia received $149.8 million from abroad in January 2021, which is 19.2 percent more than the amount in January 2020.

Russia ($23.18 million), Italy ($27.32 million) and the United States ($18.07 million) was the largest remittance senders in January 2021.

Overall, the vast majority (93.2 percent) of all money transfers from abroad came from 16 countries.
