Non-cash payments by foreigners in Azerbaijan plummet

Foreign citizens spent 25 million manat ($1.47 million) in Azerbaijan using bank cards during January 2021, which is 70.7 percent less compared to January 2020, Trend reports citing the Export Review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the report, in January 2019, foreigners spent 88.3 million manat ($51.9 million) in Azerbaijan through bank cards.

Accordingly, the figure for January 2021 is about 71.7 percent less compared to January 2019.

In the entire 2020, foreign citizens spent 430.2 million manat ($253 million) in Azerbaijan using bank cards, which in turn is 65.7 percent less than in 2019.
