Iran reveals amount of loans issued in  housing and construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 801 trillion rials (about $19 billion) to the housing and construction sector in Iran during the first 10 months of the current year (from March 20 through January 19, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 162 trillion rials (about $3.86 billion) was issued for construction work in housing and construction sector within 10 months.

“In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 245 trillion rials (about $5.84 billion) as working capital in this sector,” the statistics said.

Over the 10 months, 174 trillion rials (about $4.15 billion) was issued for repair work and 27.7 trillion rials (about $659 million) for development work in the housing and construction sector, the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 406 billion rials (about $9.6 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 183 trillion rials (about $4.37 billion) for the purchase of housing and 7.87 trillion rials (about $187 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 13.9 quadrillion rials (about $332 billion) in various sectors over the 10 months.
