Large-amount loans issued in Iran's services sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 5.53 quadrillion rials (about $132 billion) in the services sector during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through January 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 589 trillion rials (about $14 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 3.26 quadrillion rials (about $77.8 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the past 10 months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 115 trillion rials (about $2.75 billion) were issued for repair work and 1.06 quadrillion rials (about $25.4 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the report, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 26.2 trillion rials (about $625 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 29.5 trillion rials (about $704 million) for the purchase of housing and 437 trillion rials (about $10.4 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 13.9 quadrillion rials (about $332 billion) in various sectors over the 10 months.
