Volume of money transfers from abroad to Georgia up

In February 2021, the volume of money transfers from abroad to Georgia constituted $161.4 million, which is 17.5 percent ($24.1 million) more than the amount in February 2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

According to the NBG, 94.8 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from the 19 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding $1 million in February 2021. In February 2020 the share of these 19 countries constituted 94.7 percent of the total volume of money transfers.

Italy - $28.55 million;
Russian Federation - $25.14 million;
Greece - $19.71 million;
Israel - $13.92 million;
US - $19.13 million;
Turkey - $8.56 million;
Ukraine - $7.41 million;
Germany - $7.3 million;
Azerbaijan - $5.96 million;
Spain - $3.99 million;
France - $2.67 million;
Poland - $2.10 million;
Kazakhstan - $1.77 million;
Canada - $1.45 million;
Ireland - $1.42 million;
United Kingdom - $1.10 million;
Armenia - $1.04 million;
Kyrgyzstan - $1.04 million;
Cyprus - $1.03 million.

In February 2021, $21 million was transferred from Georgia, which is 3.4 percent less as compared to $21.7 million in February 2020.
