Certain loans issued in Iran’s trade sectors

Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.86 quadrillion rials (about $68.1 billion) to the Iranian trade sector during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, the loans worth 117 trillion rials (about $2.8 billion) were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the trade sector over the reporting period.

"Within 11 months, 1.29 quadrillion rials (about $30.7 billion) worth of loans were issued in the trade sector as working capital," the statistics said.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 9.42 trillion rials (about $224 million) for the repair of enterprises and 174 trillion rials (about $4.14 billion) for development of enterprises in the trade sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 1.26 quadrillion rials (about $30 billion) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets, 6.85 trillion rials (about $163 million) for the purchase of housing and 2.5 trillion rials (about $59.5 million) for other purposes in the trade sector.

Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 16 quadrillion rials (about $382 billion) in various sectors over the 11 months. This an increase of 96.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
