Azerbaijan's GDP growth is projected at 2.8 percent in 2021, despite a decrease by 4.3 percent in 2020, Trend reports citing the ‘Economic Review of Europe and Central Asia’ report of the World Bank (WB).
According to the WB forecasts, in 2022, the Azerbaijani economy will grow by 3.9 percent, in 2023 – by 3.4 percent.
Earlier, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikail Jabbarov, announced the task of doubling the country's GDP by 2030 in accordance with the new 10-year development plan.
The World Bank expects the global economy to grow by 4 percent in 2021 as long as the ongoing use of COVID-19 vaccines will continue on a large scale throughout the year.
