World Bank updates forecast on Azerbaijani state budget's ratio to GDP

The ratio of Azerbaijani state budget’s deficit to GDP is projected to make up 2.5 percent in 2021, the World Bank (WB) said in ‘Economic Review of Europe and Central Asia’, Trend reports on Apr.2.

According to the WB forecasts, this figure will return to surplus levels of 2.8 percent and 4 percent in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

"In the primary balance of Azerbaijan in relation to GDP for 2021, there will also be a deficit of 1.9 percent, and in the next two years it will return to a surplus of 3.3 percent and 4.5 percent of GDP," said the review.

The World Bank expects Azerbaijan's GDP growth at 2.8 percent in 2021, 3.9 percent in 2022, and 3.4 percent in 2023.
