Iran increases exports to Russia via customs of Mazandaran Province

The value of Iran’s exports to Russia through the customs of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 44 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), Director-General of Mazandaran Province Customs Office, Ali Yousefimanesh said, Trend reports citing Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director-general noted that 262,000 tons of goods worth $25 million were exported to Russia through the customs of Iran's Mazandaran Province last year.

“The exported goods were mainly dairy products, rubber products, soft drinks, dates, cement, minerals, chemicals, equipment, fuels, and so on,” he said.

Yousefimanesh added that moreover, about 875,000 tons of goods worth $264 million were imported from Russia through the customs of Mazandaran Province last year.

According to him, the imported goods were mainly animal feed, various edible oils, paper, wood, chemicals, electrical appliances, metals and etc.

The director-general stressed that Russia accounted for 14 percent of total exports from the Mazandaran Province in terms of value and 35 percent in terms of volume last year. Furthermore, Russia accounted for 29 percent of total imports in terms of value and 32 percent in terms of volume via the Mazandaran Province’s customs.
