Kazakhstan's int'l reserves grow

The gross international reserves of Kazakhstan’s National Bank amounted to $34.1 billion in Apr. 2021, the bank’s preliminary data said, Trend reports with reference to the National Bank.

According to the data, the value of the country’s international reserves increased by 2.04 percent compared to last month and decreased by 4.06 percent less than as of the end of 2020.

“International reserves overall, i.e. including the foreign currency denominated assets of the National Fund ($57.6 billion) equaled $91.8 billion as at the end of Apr. 2021,” the report said.

In turn, the assets in freely convertible currency have decreased by 5.3 percent compared to Mar. 2021 and by 5.3 percent compared to Dec. 2020, which has amounted to $11.4 billion.

The country’s assets in gold amounted to $22.7 billion in Apr. 2021, which is 6.1 percent more than in Mar. 2021 and down by 3.4 percent than as of the end of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s net foreign reserves have also amounted to $33.6 in April 2021, which is 2.05 percent more than last month and 4.1 percent less than as of the end of 2020.
